“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” -Dr. Seuss

There are twenty other things I should be doing other than blogging. I should be writing my paper that's due tomorrow. I should be taking my online test that's due. I should be studying for finals. The only thing is I can't focus on anything today.
All day I have been thinking about leaving beautiful Virginia and today I just really don't want to. It's the last day of classes. I should be super excited about how summer is right around the corner but I'm not. For me summer comes with heartbreak. I don't want to leave my friends here. I seriously have met some of the most amazing people here. I would list them but  there are too many people to list. Everyone here is just so amazing. I am so grateful I have had the chance to meet everyone. I don't want to leave everyone after knowing them for only a year. I feel robbed. I am trying to think about how awesome Utah is going to be but that doesn't change the fact that I'm just going to miss everyone here so much.

To all of my friends who I have met here in Virginia, thank you. Thank you for being such a fantastic part of my life. I will never forget the people who I have met here. I hope we will one day all see each other again and never have to say goodbye. You all are amazing. You all are wonderful.

Apart from the people, I am really going to miss the classes here in Virginia. The professors are so caring. Today when Dr. Whitehead was talking in Music History and she started to cry I wanted to cry to. The professors here just care so much. Now I'm going to Utah where I will just be a number. My professors won't know my names. They won't know how hard I work. They won't take the time to evaluate my output versus my ability. I'm really going to miss them, especially Professor Whitehead, Professor MacDonnell, and Professor Cluff.

Out of all of the classes I've had I'm going to miss my Music History class the most. Not necessarily because of the topic of the class but because of the people. I mean, just take a look at the fun that we have in music history.

Quick shout-out to my music history friends. You all have made this class one of the funnest ones I have ever taken. I am going to miss our MWF mornings so much. :(

I'm going to stop being all depressing now and start talking about some of the great adventures I've had in the past couple days.

On Saturday, Rockbridge County was under tornado warning! How crazy is that? I woke up in the morning around 9:00 AM and I was trying to work on my talk for church but it was so dark and my roommates were asleep. So, since my bed is closest to the window I figured I could just open my blinds and it would give me enough light to write my paper. Right? Then I go and open my window and it is so dark and rainy outside. It seriously made like no difference. Well, then my roommates wake up and we walk down to breakfast and we find out the power is out all over BV, except for in the Lofts. Yay for living on the giant hill...for once. :) So we eat a breakfast of cereal and go back upstairs. At this point, it was still just really rainy. Then I get online and see that there is a chance of thunderstorms. Keldonna is kind of petrified of thunderstorms so I decided I was going  to close the blinds that way she wouldn't notice it since she had her headphones in so she definitely wouldn't hear it. Avy and I kept looking at Rockbridge alert and eventually we saw that we had gone to tornado warning. Apparently there even were some tornado like clouds in Lexington, the town adjacent to us. North Carolina had several twisters. Anyway, point being, at one point it gets really windy so I looked out the window and I saw a tree snap and fall over!

It was kind of frightening. But, I am grateful that everything is okay here in Buena Vista and I hope that everyone in North Carolina will be able to recover okay.

That night was the Spring Formal. My roommates and I went. It was so much fun. Keldonna did everyone's hair. It was just really fun. I've been to three dances this year and this was one was probably my favorite. Everyone just looked so pretty and wonderful.

Okay, one last adventure and then I should get to work. Last night I went to the river with my friends Haylea, Rachel, and Alexa. It was so much fun! It was freezing though, but totally wonderful. We went to Family Dollar beforehand and got intertubes. Hahahaha.  There was so much laughter and so much fun--totally worth the freezing cold water. I love those three.

I love a lot of people here. I'm going to miss everyone.

"Each of our temples is an expression of our testimony that life beyond the grave is as real and as certain as is our life here on earth." -President Thomas S. Monson

I've enjoyed my time in Utah this week. My favorite day was Thursday by far. I went to lunch with my cousin Ashley. I am so excited to live in the same city as her. She is just great. Later that day, I went up to Temple Square with my friend Jordan. The temple is just such a beautiful sight; I absolutely love it.  The beauty of the exterior of temples just parallels the astounding beauty of all of the covenants that are made within its walls and the beauty of the spirit that is there. All around the temple grounds there were tulips. And in case you haven't been blog stalking me, I love flowers especially tulips. Jordan kept making fun of me because I would stop every five feet to take another picture.... hahaha. So enjoy! I highly enjoy this bird's feather... 30 Rock anyone?

During freshman orientation, we had one ceremony called "Tradition of Honor." We sat outside the porch of Main Hall and took a pledge to honor. All of the orientation leaders said it was so significant because you started your time outside of Main Hall and you would end your time outside of Main Hall with graduation. On that day, I pictured myself graduating and getting my diploma. I never thought I would transfer. Well, this is it...my last day in Virginia. I've been trying to decide what to write my last blog on for my Virginia experience. I could go on forever about my countless experiences. I could talk about the fact that finals were insanely crazy. I could talk about some adventures I've had over the past few days. But, none of those represent what Virginia was for me. Virginia was the opportunity to meet wonderful people. The people at  the school makes it great. My heart is just so full of gratitude for all of the people I have been so honored to meet. S

A Beautiful Day to Start a Blog

Well, I have officially joined the blogging community. Yay! I've been thinking about joining it for a while now but recently it's been on my mind more. A lot of my friends have started blogs and I always enjoyed reading their posts, so hopefully people will enjoy reading mine. :) Designing this blog has made me feel like I'm back in middle school and using Myspace again. I always loved picking Myspace layouts. As I designed it I remembered helping my friends pick out layouts for their pages.  It was so much fun. Facebook is lame in that regard. The only thing you can really change about it is your profile picture. Sure you can spam your wall with Farmville posts but Myspace just enabled so much creativity. I'm pretty much starting a blog so I can stay in touch with people. I have been away from home for a year now and I miss knowing about my friends lives at home. Now that I'm transferring to a college in Utah, I want to stay in touch with my Virginia friends an
