Well, I have officially joined the blogging community. Yay! I've been thinking about joining it for a while now but recently it's been on my mind more. A lot of my friends have started blogs and I always enjoyed reading their posts, so hopefully people will enjoy reading mine. :)
Designing this blog has made me feel like I'm back in middle school and using Myspace again. I always loved picking Myspace layouts. As I designed it I remembered helping my friends pick out layouts for their pages. It was so much fun. Facebook is lame in that regard. The only thing you can really change about it is your profile picture. Sure you can spam your wall with Farmville posts but Myspace just enabled so much creativity.
I'm pretty much starting a blog so I can stay in touch with people. I have been away from home for a year now and I miss knowing about my friends lives at home. Now that I'm transferring to a college in Utah, I want to stay in touch with my Virginia friends and my home friends, thus this blog.
I guess that will be the subject of this first post. I am transferring. There are a lot of reasons behind my decision. To list a few:
So, I guess this will be my first post. I could make it a lot longer and catch the world up on several happenings in my life, but I figure since I'm starting my blog now it should start now. After all, to quote the words of Carl Bard, "Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending."

- I really want to be closer to my family. Virginia is really far away from home and flying home is very expensive.
- During my sophomore and junior years in high school I always thought I wanted to be a journalism major. When my high school newspaper ended, I forgot the love I had for journalism. Being on the newspaper in Virginia this semester has renewed that love. So, the plan is to major in Print Journalism. The only difficulty is getting into the program but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my mind open.
- I have family that lives in Utah that I want to be closer to.

You have such awesome quotes! :) This is a brilliant idea! I look forward to reading further Lindsey-ness in the future.
ReplyDeleteMy dearest Lindsey, I love you. Your new blog is going to be incredible. I can already tell. You're going to be just like Mia from The Princess Diaries except that first you'll need to find out that you are the heir to a European throne. Don't worry, as your best friend I'll be sure to get right on that investigation.
